By downloading, installing, or using QR Scanner: Barcode Scanner ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, please uninstall and discontinue use of the App immediately.
1. Scope of Service and License
QR Scanner: Barcode Scanner is a mobile utility application designed to scan, decode, batch-process, and generate 1D and 2D barcodes and QR codes. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to use the App for personal or business purposes, subject to your compliance with these Terms.
2. Device Permissions and Hardware Access
To deliver its features, the App requests access to specific device hardware and system permissions. By using the App, you acknowledge and consent to the following functional access:
Camera: To capture live image frames for real-time barcode and QR code decoding.
Internet Access: To fetch advertisements, retrieve remote app configurations, send anonymous crash logs, and receive push notifications.
Wi-Fi Control (ACCESS_WIFI_STATE, CHANGE_WIFI_STATE): Used strictly to automate network connections when you explicitly scan a Wi-Fi configuration QR code.
System Alert Window (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW): To allow the App to draw floating user interface elements (like quick-scan widgets) over other active applications.
Phone State (READ_PHONE_STATE): To read the device's cellular network state, call status, and unique device identifiers to manage app interruptions and handle specific third-party SDK requirements.
Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): To deliver alerts, updates, and messages to your device.
Device Boot (RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED): To automatically restart necessary background services (such as notification receivers or floating widgets) when your device is powered on.
Vibration (VIBRATE): To provide haptic feedback upon a successful code scan.
Advertising ID (AD_ID): To allow our advertising partners to serve personalized or contextual advertisements.
3. Third-Party Services, SDKs, and External Policies
The App integrates several third-party libraries and Software Development Kits (SDKs) to provide advanced functionality, analytics, and monetization. 4. User Conduct and Responsibilities
While using the App, you agree not to:
Use the App to generate QR codes containing malicious links, malware, phishing sites, or harmful software.
Scan or interact with codes that lead to illegal content, infringe upon third-party rights, or violate local laws.
Abuse the batch-scanning or network-connection features to spam networks or disrupt third-party services.
Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App or its underlying third-party SDKs.
External Links and Networks: The App decodes information created by third parties. We do not control the contents of the URLs you scan. You assume full responsibility and risk when choosing to open web links, dial phone numbers, or connect to Wi-Fi networks decoded by the App.
5. Intellectual Property
All rights, title, and interest in and to the App—including its design, original graphics, UI elements, and proprietary code—are owned by the developers of QR Scanner: Barcode Scanner, excluding the third-party open-source libraries and SDKs mentioned above.
6. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. We do not warrant that:
The App will successfully read or generate every barcode or QR code in all lighting or hardware conditions.
The automatic Wi-Fi connection feature will bypass or override advanced network security configurations.
The App, its third-party ad networks, or analytics services will be completely error-free, secure, or uninterrupted.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developers of QR Scanner: Barcode Scanner shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App. This includes, but is not limited to, damages caused by navigating to malicious URLs scanned via the App, connecting to unsecure Wi-Fi networks, data loss, or issues arising from third-party advertisements displayed within the App.
